This exciting, performance-centred course is the vocational equivalent of three A levels. Whilst on this course you will explore many opportunities for progression and there are an exciting variety of workshops and trips, including London and New York. You may choose one of the following pathways to study as your major subject. Alongside your major classes you will explore your performance skills in a related discipline (Pathway options: Acting, Dance or Musical Theatre).
These exciting new BTECs have been written in partnership with Universities, ensuring that they are academically and vocationally challenging and preparing students for continued study at HE or conservatoires.

A Level - Dance

“The A Level Dance course is a vibrant mix of dance technique, performance, choreography, body conditioning and analysis skills. All of which are packaged up into practical and theoretical classes which will allow you to immerse yourself in world of dance, allowing students to express themselves in the differing aspects of dance training. Whether you are interested in being a performer, a choreographer, a teacher or even all three, this course will prepare you for any and every pathway. The academic strand to the course allows students to sharpen their analytical skill in preparation for a degree pathway in dance or indeed in any other subject area.
Studying on this A Level course with us means you will be following in the footsteps of students now studying at some of the most prestigious dance colleges around the country. As well as some now working professionally for dance companies; including Hofesh Shechter, Matthew Bourne and Akram Khan.
It is the perfect accompaniment to a wide range of other A Level courses. “

A Level - Drama And Theatre Studies

An exciting, challenging and rewarding course that will stretch you as a theatre-maker and performer, it entails a combination of the practical and the academic. You will explore (and apply) the work of a number of practitioners from Stanislavski to Kneehigh, as well as see (and write on) a diverse range of shows. You’ll perform extracts from Shakespeare to Contemporary Theatre and do a Promenade Devised piece in a converted church.
You’ll also work on virtual productions of Antigone and Our Country’s Good. Alumni have progressed to many of the top Drama Schools and Universities.
You also get the chance to go to New York.
