Level 3 Courses

Computer Science A Level - Room 346

A level Computer science is split into two sections, programming and theory.  On the programming side of the course, students can learn from any programming language out of C#, Java, Pascal/Delphi, Python and VB.Net, although your teachers will specify the language they teach rather than give you free choice.  You will cover  the fundamentals of programming, data structures, algorithms, and object-orientated programme design.

Software & Games Development - Room 346

This is a great course for anyone interested in games programming and software development in general terms.
It really suits someone who has some interest in programming as well as games development as there is a significant amount of programming on the course.
It is a fun and creative course and you will finish the course with a recognised qualification that will allow you to progress to University, a higher level apprenticeship or an introductory role in a development studio.
Whilst the course is very focused on games development for PC, mobile and web, it gives you a really good grounding in how to develop a program using a range of languages, as well as how to plan and develop a game or similar title.

App, Web & Games Design - Room 300/346

The UAL Extended Diploma in App, Web & Games Design is a two-year, full time programme at level 3 (equivalent to three A Levels). On successful completion of the course you will be qualified to enter Higher Education to pursue a Higher National Diploma or degree course. You will also develop the necessary skills to enter the workplace should you choose to do so.
The course covers many aspects of Media and you will have the opportunity to learn how to create websites, mobile applications, interactive games and designs. You will learn how to use all the different software, media equipment and the studios. In addition to the practical projects, you will explore contextual influences covering App & Web design, Mobile Technologies, Graphic Design elements and Games Design

Animation & Illustration - Room 300

The UAL Extended Diploma in Animation and Illustration is a two-year, full time programme at Level 3 (equivalent to three A Levels).
On successful completion of the course you will be qualified to progress onto Higher Education, to pursue a Higher National Diploma or degree course, a Level 4 apprenticeship or progress into full time employment .
The course covers many aspects of the Art and Design Creative industry. The course endeavors to you give you the opportunity to develop your skills, enhance your knowledge of the subject and related areas and give you the confidence to be a successful independent creative.

Level 2 Courses

Computing & Digital Technologies – Access to Level 3 - Room 346

The Level 2 Computing & Digital Technologies – Access to Level 3 course is a single year course, designed as a great stepping-stone for people who still need to achieve their GCSEs for English and Maths.  This course will teach you a wide range of modern IT and Digital skills, introduce you to coding, App development, a firm understanding of computer systems and networking and give you a head start for progression on to our Level 3 Creative, Digital and Development course or our Level 3 Software & Games course.  This Level 2 course is a one-year, full time course.
